The Origins of Preferito Catering

In 1962, a young woman by the name of Pasqualina Loparco arrived in Toronto from Italy and put her culinary skills to professional use almost immediately. She started catering both formal and social events within the GTA, while working in the pasta kitchens of Mississauga Noodles since its inception. Pasqualina also assisted Lina Loparco, the proprietor of La Gioconda Banquet Hall, in making sure that her kitchen always ran smoothly. It was here where her young son, Luciano, would spend his Saturdays surrounded by what seemed like a never-ending array of delicious food amidst the fast-paced atmosphere of banquet hall service excellence.

It was in 1997 that the Loparco family welcomed the opportunity to assume proprietorship and keep the tradition of Mississauga Noodles going strong. The comfortable transition led to the introduction of Preferito Catering: a full-service catering establishment preparing authentic, Italian cuisine to individuals and businesses for every occasion; which today continues to garner fabulous reviews and a loyal following.
